It took three months but I finally got some free time and motivation to open up my old code and get this site working again. While I was at it I added in support for the rest of the post types on the radar. To prevent spamming my old followers, I moved the old site here and put this new one in its place.
To anyone who doesn’t know what this site is, it automatically reblogs posts from the Tumblr Radar. The radar is great for finding new content and discussions but there was no way to get all the content in your dashboard or RSS reader. This site fixes both shortcomings. And by reblogging, rather than reposting, ‘What’s On Tumblr?’ lets conversations continue and lets the original poster, and readers, see all the reblogs.
The script powering this site runs every
hour, on the hour, 15 minutes and posts all the new content it finds so you may get several posts at once, especially when the radar is very active.
To respect Tumblr, I’ve done my best to minimize server loads caused by the script. Each run hits the radar page once, the permalinks for any new posts, and the login page.
I will try and tag any info posts like this with the tag ‘news’ for easy finding. More for me than anything.
As always, please send me any issues, bugs, comments or suggestions.
